Senior Camogie League

Things are beginning to shape up in the We Are Dublin GAA Senior Camogie League

Sunday, April 7th 2019

We witnessed a fantastic performance from Dublin‘s U16 Camogie panel this afternoon in the Leinster Championship. But this morning and this afternoon there were another 10 games played in this year’s Senior Camogie Leagues across the county. Round 3 of the Senior 1 League was completed along with Round 2 of both the Senior 2 and Inter 1 Leagues. And there was one game in Group 2 of the Junior 3 League.

Here’s all the details from each game.

Senior 1 Camogie League

Faughs/Celtic 2-08 Ballyboden St. Endas 2-13
Skerries Harps 2-08 Ballinteer St. Johns 0-15
St. Vincents 2-21 Lucan Sarsfields 0-07

Ballyboden St. Endas recorded their second win this morning, handing Faughs/Celtic their third defeat. But Faughs are showing positive sings, scoring another two goals today, bringing their goal tally to five so far. Sadly it wasn’t enough against Boden who won by a five point margin on a 2-13 to 2-08 scoreline. Like Faughs, Skerries Harps suffered another loss today at the hands of Ballinteer St. Johns, but literally by the narrowest of margins. And St. Vincents are flying high this year, recording their third consecutive win, this time over Lucan Sarsfields who are a team rebuilding. So Vincents are two points clear at the top of Senior 1 but Ballyboden and Na Fianna are nipping at the ankles.

Senior 2 Camogie League

St. Vincents B 2-05 Cuala 2-13
Naomh Mearnog 2-10 Good Counsel 4-11
Raheny 2-10 Castleknock 4-12

Cuala bounced back from a defeat by Raheny last week to take the two points today with a win over St. Vincents B, which was Vincents second defeat. Good Counsel are two for two with their 4-11 to 2-10 victory over Naomh Mearnog. And Raheny suffered defeat at the hands of Castleknock this morning. With Castleknock on a first round bye, this was their opening game in the 2019 league.

Inter 1 Camogie League

Ballyboden St. Endas B 1-09 Naomh Fionnbarra 2-03
Clanna Gael/Fontenoy v Naomh Brid (Conceded by Clanna Gael)
Erins Isle 3-18 Na Fianna B 4-03
Lucan Sarsfields B 2-09 Thomas Davis 1-05

Ballyboden’s B panel are flying so far in Inter 1, and today’s win over Naomh Fionnbarra sees them on maximum points, Unfortunately for Barrs it was their second loss on the bounce. Erins Isle continue to build momentum from their opening round win to beat Na Fianna B today on a 3-18 to 4-03 scoreline. And after narrowly losing to Naomh Brid in Round 1, Lucan Sarsfields B recorded a 2-09 to 1-05 victory over Thomas Davis. Clanna Gael/Fontenoy conceded their fixture today giving a walkover to Naomh Brid.

Junior 3 Camogie League, Group 2

Faughs/Celtic C 3-09 Kilmacud Crokes 0-03

With the Junior 3 League officially starting on Tuesday this week, there was one Round 1 game played early. And Faughs/Celtic C got their league campaign off to a great start with a convincing 3-09 to 0-03 victory over Kilmacud Crokes C.

The next fixtures in Senior 1 and Senior 2 Leagues are April 16th. Inter 1 continues with games this Thursday, April 11th. Inter 2 and Junior 1 also gets up and running on the same evening. Junior 2, 3 and 4 all start this coming Tuesday, April 9th.
